GLITTER IN GOLD

I attended a company Christmas Party last December 4th with a "Colors of Christmas" theme. I originally planned on wearing a white backless dress with red shoes and accessories but when I was cloth-shopping at a mall with my friend Beth, a gold cloth caught my attention. I instantly loved it! So why not wear gold? And I've got company. Beth & Dante completed the "Golden Trio".

image
On Beth: This dress sports a girly look for Beth which speaks so much of her personality. The strapless top emphasizes her slim arms and gives that sexy appeal to the outfit. The belt positioned just below the bustline also makes her legs look longer. The killer pumps looked perfectly sexy complimented with a purse of the same color and design. Bravo Beth! You look FABulous girl!

image
On Dante: This outfit is soooo Dante! Something very close to my heart because this is one of my works of art. Dante and I went shopping for the suit and he told me that he wanted gold details on the shoulders and the body of the suit as well so I worked my way into creating that "it" outfit for him. I'm so glad that he liked it. I must say it will take another "Dante" to carry that dress the way he did! The 14.8mm black contacts also looked great on him. It gives that "fantasy feel" to his total look.

image
On Me: The top of the dress was the gold cloth that I fell in love with and the bottom was a sequined cloth which was more like a combination of peach and beige. I wanted something that will look great for the evening so I decided for a heavily sequined bottom. I also sewed some beads on the right shoulder of the dress so it will not appear too off from the sequined bottom. The beadwork was a combination of gold medium-sized beads and tiny glass beads in peach for that "droplets effect". And of course the red pair of shoes that I sooo love complimented with a red purse, red bangle and the uber sexy red lipstick!

Happy Holidays everyone! May you glitter this holiday season in style! :)

TAKE ME THERE...my fav pair of shoes!

My all time favorite shoe! This ever reliable pair has been taking me to so many places for as long as I can remember. It's pretty old - I can't exactly remember when I bought it but I think it's been with me for two years or so and I wear it at least three times a week. A very trustworthy pair of shoes indeed! I say bravo to my favorite shoe!

Got this from Grendha. The same company that sells Ipanema and Rider. The quality is highly commendable! The material is plastic so it allows me to wash it when it becomes dirty from constant use. What I love about this is that it doesn't look like plastic unlike the others wherein you can really tell what the material is made of. I also like the color which is more like metallic brown allowing me to match it with most of my clothes.

This pair already has signs of wear and tear in its insoles but I still love it. Though I'm thinking about getting another pair of the same brand with a different style but I'm sure I'll still keep this pair company for a long time until it gives up on me. haha!

Here's a tip from a practical shopper (that's me!...yes me! :P) - in buying a pair of shoes, always consider the quality. High quality items may oftentimes come with a higher price but think about the benefits that you'll get from it. If you buy an inexpensive pair but it will only last for a month or so then it's not a wise buy. You would rather opt to save on something pricey but of high quality that will last for years like my feet's buddy here. But remember, not everything that's pricey is of high quality so don't be deceived. Be a wise buyer. There are items that are inexpensive but of high quality. I guess the key is try not to be an impulsive buyer. Examine the item first, check the quality, consider the price and then think if it's worth buying or not ;)

CHRISTMAS PARTY OUTFIT IDEAS for MEN

As requested by my good friend Harold, here are some outfit ideas for that Christmas party you're attending. C'mon guys, time to charm the ladies!

1. BLACK SUIT
The ever famous classic black suit is always a safe choice. You could rarely go wrong with it. It's best worn on a formal Christmas Party event. If you want to do away with wearing a necktie then the first look is perfect for you. The second look has a more stylish appeal due to its buttons detail.

image

2. BRIGHT & BOLD
To those who are daring enough to sport an outfit with bright colors, you might want these styles. Most men would rather go for black, gray or brown tones but there are a few who would rather spice it up with colors!

image

3. LEATHER, THE JT WAY
For a boyish feel, a leather jacket might just make your day! It's not formal as a suit but it has a certain kick to it. You might also want to add a fedora hat to complete that JT look and before you know it, it'll take you less than 4 minutes to save the world! lol

image

4. NEAT & MODERN
For a polished and put-together look with a modern twist, you can sport any of these. I especially like Zac Efron's skinny necktie. I think it looks really modern & adds flare to the gray suit. So does the thin white belt on the 3rd image. It adds an element of surprise trading the usual black belt. You might want to drop the tablecloth-like tie though (haha!). You can go for a plain dark necktie instead or one with a more subtle print.

5. SLEEK CARDIGAN (Mr. Nice Guy Look)
I call this the "Mr. Nice Guy" look. It's the kind that you want your man to wear when he's meeting your parents for the first time lol! But seriously, not all men are comfortable wearing a cardigan. They feel like it's kinda "gay-ish" but I personally like it - it's nice and neat.

image

6. SMART CASUAL
This is another nice set. It's not as formal as a suit but it looks smart and casual. If you don't like wearing a suit because you don't wanna look too serious then you can go for this. The shoes also project a playful & cool image - me likey!

7. THE EXPERIMENTALIST
If you are the brave type when it comes to fashion, you can do away with the usual & safe look and experiment with your outfit. The images below might be something that you can pull off.

Okay, so I hope you've picked up some ideas to help you plan that "it" outfit. Just remember that whatever you wear, no matter how expensive or stylish it is, if you do not carry it with confidence...it will not serve you the best possible way that it can. Don't be afraid to try something new as long as you can confidently wear it, go for it!

Thanks to bebexo's Fishtail braid tutorial. It's actually pretty easy to do. My friends and I attended a Halloween Costume Party last October 30th to celebrate my birthday (Yay!). I dressed up as a Greek Goddess. Thanks to the ever reliable, ever helpful tutorial. I think it did great to my greek goddess look. Brought that swagga to it!

The Greek Goddess Look: Gladiator flats from So Fab ; white one-shoulder dress from Fab Cebu online shop; garter headband from Metro Ayala, red lipstick in Scarlet, accessories by yours truly (harhar)...and completing the look is my fishtail braid :)

CHRISTMAS PARTY DRESS IDEAS

Less than two more weeks to go and it's December! It's Christmas Party season once again. And that will also mean planning and preparing for that gorgeous outfit that will look perfect on you! So here are some ideas that I would like to share with you guys...

1. SWEET & SOPHISTICATED
If you have nice shoulders and collarbone these outfits will really suit you best. These look great on both tall or petite frames. If you want to emphazise your legs then these are nice outfits to wear too. For some women who are not very confident with their midsection, the pink dress is your best solution since it has an empire waist, thus hiding those belly fats.

2. GIRLY & CLASSY
If you want to project a girly but classy look, these outfits might just be what you are looking for. You can play around with the colors depending on your skintone or whether you'll be wearing it during the day or night. If you are petite, the first outfit will look great on you. Shifting the color to silver or a dark tone is a good idea too in order to make it less "wedding dress-like". The empire waist will make your lower body look longer. For tall frames, the second outfit will fit you best. Petite women can wear this too but you would want to shorten the length to make your legs look longer.

3. GLAMOR GIRL
Who wouldn't want to look glamorous? Sporting the glamor look will definitely stir attention so if you want to look eye candy, these dresses might just be what you need. The colors are perfect for evening parties and the details on the dresses are really hard to ignore.

image

4. SLEEVED DRESSES
Are flabby arms worrying you? Then these are the right outfits for you. These will hide the arms that you are dreading to expose and will shift the attention to your assets may it be your bust, broad shoulders, slim waist or long legs.

image

5. VOLUPTUOUS
Whoever said that full-figured women can't look sexy definitely doesn't know what he/she is talking about. It's just a matter of finding that perfect cut that will hide your flaws and flatter your body. Dark colored dresses look best on full-figured women since they make you look thin. If you go for a printed dress, choose something with a vertical pattern like that animal print dress that Queen Latifah is wearing. You can wear a girdle with it to trim down your waist. If you are not comfortable with your waist area, you choose an empire cut dress. Its waistline will start from below your bustline so it's the key to hiding that tummy.

So are you now ready for that party? Just keep in mind that the key here is to hide your flaws and highlight your assets. Good luck on finding that perfect outfit attagirl! :)

MY OBI BELT CREATIONS

image
Top (L-R) Animal Print Obi Belt; Gray Satin Obi Belt with Buttons Detail; Aqua & Lilac Obi Belt

Obi is literally a "sash" for traditional Japanese dresses worn for Martial Arts and as part of Kimono outfits.
Back when I was a little girl, I used to hand sew clothes for my barbie doll. I never had much luck learning how to use granny's sewing machine so I settled for hand sewing. I've been eying obi belts that I see on shops. I thought the pattern is somewhat simple and can be hand sewn so I tried making one. My first was actually the Aqua & Lilac design. Obi belts add spice to your usual outfit. May it be from a simple tee or a dress.

DO THAT DO!

Attending a party this holiday season? You might want to check out these hairdos and see which fits you best or that killer outfit that you're planning to wear. It might just be that letter "b" in "fab".

STYLE ICONS (personal picks)

image
Audrey Hepburn
She's by far my all time favorite style icon. Her style never grows old - classic!. There are two words that I could best describe Audrey Hepburn's style -simple and elegantShe seems to have made the "little black dress" a must have for every woman. That ever reliable little black dress that you can always mix and match with any jewelry or shoe. Just plain perfect!

image
Rachel Bilson
I became a fan when I started watching "The OC" around 2years ago. Rachel played the role of Summer Roberts. What I love most about Rachel's fashion style is that it's something that I can easily relate to. Apart from her petite frame which is closer to my own, her style is cute and sweet. For the most part, that's where my personal style is leaning towards.

image
Tricia Gosingtian
I never heard of Tricia until I saw her featured on TV. I instantly loved her style. I've been hooked on checking her blog for fashion tips and ideas since. She's actually my inspiration on why I have considered creating a fashion blog. Her sytle is funky and creative. She's a big fan of platform boots. Though I don't think I can pull those off, what I actually love about her style is that she goes to prove that you don't have to bear much skin to look sexy.

image
Heart Evangelista
Heart oh Heart! Though I'm not fascinated by her personality, I actually love her sense of fashion. I think it's chic and classy. She's one of the most beautiful faces on Philippine television. The shape of her face is just perfect. She's famous for her attachment to red lipstick. I have never imagined myself wearing red lippies before but I thought I might give it a try. Voila! I liked it. Though I don't think it's something that I would want to wear that often but for special occasions and events, it'll definitely look great. Just don't overdo it!

image
John Lloyd Cruz
Just when you thought this is all "girl stuff", you came across this side of the blog. Yup yup yup, men are part of this thingy too. John Lloyd, apart from his good looks (I'm biased, am I???) has a cool and trendy style. It's never boring. Admit it, no one looks as cute as a button wearing loafers the way JL does.

image
David Beckham
THE David Beckham! A fashion icon indeed. No matter what he wears, he looks good on them! Though he is more into high fashion, but men could get ideas from his style. The total look maybe overwhelming for some but probably picking up bits and pieces of his style that you can imagine yourself wearing is worth a try.

We may have our own list of Fashion Icons but it still boils down to our personal sense of style. Each is unique so celebrate your individuality! Style icons can serve as an inspiration and guide for us to look better, dress better and feel better!
