My curious fascination on Nail Art has inspired me to try and create my own version. I've always been comfy doing my own mani and pedi. I admit I get a little scared when having it done in a salon. Had many experiences in the past of bleeding cuticles. I mean c'mon, going to a nail salon is supposed to be a relaxing and positive experience right, not a painful one. So for a long time now, I've given up on visiting the nail salon.
I opened my drawer containing a selection of nail colors that I have collected over the past few months and picked two that I thought my suit the design I have in mind. I decided to start with the basic...don't feel like getting too adventurous with colors right now as I don't think I'll pull it off in a somewhat serious type of environment like my workplace.
So these are the two nail colors that I chose. One is of very light peach color which I used as the base and the other a glittery pink which is the highlight on the tip.
It's quite easy to do though. Just apply about 3 coats of the base and one coat of the glittery polish on the tips of your nails similar to how you do a french tip. Though you might need to apply more coats to some areas in order to achieve a more or less even distribution of the glitters.
And so this is how it'll look like:
This looks very feminine but you can substitute the pink glitters with gold or silver depending on what suits you best. If you feel like sporting a bolder look, you can try midnight blue as the base and silver glitters on the tips.
You can also get some inspiration from video tutorials or websites as such: http://www.nailsmag.com/style/nail-art/demo/list
So try to shift from the traditional one-color manicure to a more exciting and creative nail art! I think it's one way of self expression giving you freedom to show your mood or style through nail art.
xoxo
