Purple has always been on top of my favorites list when it comes to color. What comes next? Aquamarine! It's so refreshing and cool on the eyes.
Aquamarine + my love for nail color = Aquamarine Nail Color!
I'm a fan of Sally Hansen nail products. For me it's a smart buy since it'll last long plus it has good quality (read does not easily chip). My pick to satisfy my love for Aquamarine - Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Color in Blizzard Blue. I'm no expert when applying nail color so I'm not a big fan of Matte, Glossy and Sheer types. I usually pick the Pearl type simply coz I don't have to worry about uneven color. It's so easy to apply!

Since I always do my mani and pedi at the very last minute - and by that I mean as late as 11 in the evening just barely an hour before I hit the sack, they almost always end up with marks when I wake up in the morning which is so annoying. I've been on the lookout for an effective and easy to apply Nail Color Dryer lately but most seem to have failed me. I was so thrilled with what I have discovered lately. The ultimate solution - Sally Hansen Dry Kwik Nail Color Dryer. It definitely lived up to its name. Now when I wake up the day after, my mani and pedi will stay the same as how they were the night before. What a relief!
Sally Hansen Dry Kwik Nail Color Dryer
Here are 3 easy steps on how to apply Dry Kwik:
1. Apply nail color, let dry for 1 minute
2. Brush Dry Kwik over nail color and cuticles
3. After 3 minutes, massage into nail and cuticles
It dries up so quickly plus it's oil based making it so much easier to massage onto your nails. Definitely a must try!

I NAILED IT!
My curious fascination on Nail Art has inspired me to try and create my own version. I've always been comfy doing my own mani and pedi. I admit I get a little scared when having it done in a salon. Had many experiences in the past of bleeding cuticles. I mean c'mon, going to a nail salon is supposed to be a relaxing and positive experience right, not a painful one. So for a long time now, I've given up on visiting the nail salon.
I opened my drawer containing a selection of nail colors that I have collected over the past few months and picked two that I thought my suit the design I have in mind. I decided to start with the basic...don't feel like getting too adventurous with colors right now as I don't think I'll pull it off in a somewhat serious type of environment like my workplace.
So these are the two nail colors that I chose. One is of very light peach color which I used as the base and the other a glittery pink which is the highlight on the tip.
It's quite easy to do though. Just apply about 3 coats of the base and one coat of the glittery polish on the tips of your nails similar to how you do a french tip. Though you might need to apply more coats to some areas in order to achieve a more or less even distribution of the glitters.
And so this is how it'll look like:
This looks very feminine but you can substitute the pink glitters with gold or silver depending on what suits you best. If you feel like sporting a bolder look, you can try midnight blue as the base and silver glitters on the tips.
You can also get some inspiration from video tutorials or websites as such: http://www.nailsmag.com/style/nail-art/demo/list
So try to shift from the traditional one-color manicure to a more exciting and creative nail art! I think it's one way of self expression giving you freedom to show your mood or style through nail art.

GET PLAYFUL!
Saw this strawberry nail tutorial from bubzbeauty and thought it's really cute. I might want to try it one of these weekends. Cannot wear it to work though lol!
I've always been fascinated with nail colors. I do my own manicure and pedicure. Not really comfortable having my nails done in a salon since I'm afraid they might hurt my fingers or toes. Had a number of bad experiences in the past so I settled with learning and doing it my own way. Lately, my roomies (and by that I mean Kim & Judy ;)) and I are into trying different nail colors. It's fun and serves as a girly bonding time for us.
Enjoy the tutorial. Squeeze out your creative juices and you might be able to come up with your original version of nail art.

BE MY VALENTINE
Yay! Valentine finally!
Happy Hearts Day people! I started Hearts Day with a hearty breakfast. A great way to start my day. After all, who doesn't like eating?
Whatever your plans are for today, remember to share a part of yourself to others. Make someone happy, make someone smile - SPREAD SOME LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Sharing this video with you for Hearts Day! The song is entitled "VALENTINE" by another YouTube discovery - Kina Grannis.
I really am inspired with girls who play the guitar. I wish I could do that too so that when I feel blue, I'll just strum those strings and sing my tune. Oh well dreamy dreamy dreamy me!
Enjoy the song!
Go ahead and be someone's Valentine today..... :)

HAVE A DATE?
So it's this awaited time of the year, to some a dreaded one...or to others just one of the ordinary....whichever it is to you, Valentine's Day is almost here!
Whether I have a date or not on V-Day, I personally regard it in a positive vibe. I think there are a lot of ways to spread some love and to feel the essence of the occasion. So go on and date! May it be with a special someone, with your best friend, your family, your girl friends or yourself. Celebrate the Season of Hearts! Share some love to a stranger, to a kid on the street, make someone happy.
Whoever you're going out with on Hearts Day, here are some outfit ideas that you might consider:
1. Formal Dinner Date - Little Black Dress
2. Casual Date - Color it RED
3. Friendly Date - Keep it BLACK & WHITE
4. Movie Date- A BLAZER to keep you warm
5. Date with Girl Friends - A SKIRT for a Girly Vibe
Apart from the outfits and makeup, do not forget to wear THE most important thing of all...trust me, this will capture hearts - YOUR SMILE! You'll never know, it might just make someone's day!
Love love love!

GOING VINTAGE
After my "subtle hiatus"...I'm back! Been so busy lately so I haven't had time to blog. But here I am alone on a Tuesday afternoon, drowning myself in a pool of job searches. It gets so consuming sometimes you know, so might as well take some time off and blog.
About two weekends ago, my friends and I participated in a photoshoot organized by some friends in the office. I'm not really the "poser" type. Not really comfortable being photographed solo to say the least but in my quest to try something new, I gave it a shot!
And so how did the "Vintage" concept come about? Well, one of the organizers of the shoot (and by that I meant Damian) asked me what kind of concept do I want so I instantly volunteered a "Vintage Glam" sort of concept. Got inspired with Anne Curtis' pictures from her Freeway ads.
Thanks to such good photographers Damian, Lyra, Kent, Christian, Faye, Ryan & Edfel.
Here are some photos taken from the shoot.

Most of the outfits worn were from UK UK (ukay-ukay). You can definitely spot unique fashion finds there. I especially recommend hunting for "it" outfits that you can use for parties, photoshoots, events or what have you. There are air conditioned ukay-ukay shops in Fuente (opposite Robinsons Department Store), Coco Mall, Raintree Mall and near Colonade wherein the clothes are already sorted and hung for easier selection. I personally prefer these stores since I cannot literally "ukay" due to my Allergic Rhinitis. Believe me, you'll find treasures from these ukay-ukay shops. Branded clothes at a cheap price anyone? :)
